The Bizarro Au Go-Go team had a blast at this year's Long Beach Comic and Horror Convention. We met lots of awesome people, saw plenty of cool costumes, and pretty much had an all around blast. We definitely plan on getting a booth next year.

We had a blast at comic con this year, as we always do. This was the 5th year that Ink Pen Mutations Press had a booth at San Diego Comic Con and we did not want to disappoint. We had crazier costumes, lots of fun swag bags, and FanVixens in: Bizarro Au Go-Go made it's public debut. It was a lot of work, but so much fun. I'm back! I'm feeling pretty stoked because this Saturday night I'll be partying at the Hive Gallery in downtown Los Angeles with one of my best friends, the amazing, Laya Bella. She has to be one of the sweetest, most beautiful girls in my life right now. We really know how to have fun! =)

The Hive Gallery is having their big group show with the awesome theme of Lovers & Haters. I will be featuring my first collaboration piece with Cig Neutron called Death and the Maiden, featuring my beautiful friend- Playboy model Laya Bella. There will be a limited run of only 5 of these signed Death and the Maiden prints.

This more serious piece is the first image to be released from our upcoming book “Bizarro Au Go-Go.” It's (in a nutshell) going to be a ~~tastefu~~l combination of photography, sculpture, special effects, fabrication, and photo-manipulation. This saucy cocktail of humor, horror, sci-fi, and hot babes the images will pretty much portray what the title implies- fun mess of craziness (if that makes any sense. It doesn't have to really, because it's going to be fucking awesome).

I'm really excited to start this project. With this collaboration, I'll be able to make images that I never would have dreamed possible. Our imaginations are our limit and we are busting out so many amazing ideas already, it makes me want to piss myself with excitement.

We will also have FanVixens 2011 calendars for sell in the back room. Did I mention that Laya is Miss February 2011 in this calendar?! Well, if you don't know you better ax somebody.

Cig Neutron will also be selling more of his infamous Cigaratts in our room. They sell out every time we show them.

He makes custom cigaratts like this one of me with my more recent hairdo.

My sister Ave Rose, will be featuring her new art collection “Birdbot Watching” in our room. “Birdbot Watching” is her creation of miniature robot birds made of vintage watch parts. Her stuff is bananas. Super cute and intricate.

Halloween Weekend 2010

Halloween weekend was a bit hectic for me this year, so pretty much all of my costumes were last minute. I'm just lucky that I have a pro special fx makeup dude to hook me up on a whim. =) Anyways, here are some photos of the weekend fun. (click images to enlarge)

We pretty much drove around all day getting body paint so we could be airbrushed on Saturday.We really had no time to get dressed up, but I always have pasties and sick dresses on hold for any occasion...

I really didn't know what to expect of the band, aside from the gossip that they are awesome live performers... They seriously did not disappoint. It was probably one of the most fun, unique, and just down right rad show experiences I've ever been too. I'll upload video one of these days...

Saturday night

My second costume was not as last minute, but we figured it out on friday morning that it would be fuckin awesome to go as Bebop and Rocksexy (rocksteady) from teenage mutant ninja turtles. Again, we didn't have much time to perfect the look, since we started getting ready way late, but I think we pulled it off alright. We had a couple of folks screaming "HOLY SHIT! BEBOP AND ROCKSTEADY! FUCK YEAH!" Mission accomplished. My horns and bebop's snout and headpiece were all hand made at the last minute, and I think we came out pretty bitchin'.

On a side note. Blaine and his friend Asia almost got mugged leaving the club. 4 guys fucking tried to take her purse. Blaine jumped on the dude that grabbed the purse, got punched in the side of the head, but he still held shit down and they were able to get away without giving up the purse. We had no idea what happened because we were waiting in our car while he was making sure she made it safely to her ride. They must've hit up 3 different sets of cops and I was so fucking pissed that none of them were able to help us, but they took the time to thoroughly search Asia's trunk as if they were the bad guys when all they were doing was asking for assistance. We knew exactly where those fucks were standing, but apparently all the cops we asked were too busy? SMH. Dude, they were physically assaulted and almost robbed, but all the cops were tending to traffic violations and searching victim's trunks. I want to say more, but seriously whatever. I just hope those guys didn't get away with mugging other people that night. That shit is just straight up bananas.

^With our custom made Amoebike....We mainly road around on scooters though. I would highly recommend electric scooters to anyone going to burning man. It's the best way to get around. The playa is massive.

^Accessory must haves...Everywhere you go, you it's important to have goggles (tinted for day, clear for night, a face cover (i usually wore a long scarf in my hair and or a bandanna around my neck for easy access), a headlight and other lights for the night (the more lights the better for your safety! I don't know how many people I almost ran over because I couldn't see them in the dark), a cup (people give out free drinks everywhere), gloves (to protect your hands from lots of scooter riding), and of course a camel pack to store water.

^Largest game of tetris I ever played. If I ever become baller, I'd totally make a Dr. Mario one.

^Asian sweat shop... we had to sew the leather covers onto the paddles of Blaine's self propelled spanking machine, or he'd burn our feet.

Our camp's fire show. I saw some of the most amazing fire shows at burning man. It's so damned sexy. I'd love to learn it!

Burning Man 2010 pt. 1 (photo heavy!)

So this was my first year at Burning Man, and I have to say, I fucking loved it. It's one of the most amazing events I've ever attended. There is NOTHING like Burning Man. It's like being on another planet. It's massive and so hard to describe. If I were to break each memorable moment into stories, I'd be rambling forever. San Diego Comic Con 2010 cont.

I know that these images are long overdue. I've been super busy, but let me reassure you, every has been going great. I will be updating a lot for FanVixens within the next month or so. I feel bad that I haven't really updated with many of the 2010 girls' bios and photos, but I'm going to be setting aside time for all of that soon.

FanVixens 2011 Calendar Hot off the Presses! Sneak Peek...

So I know I've been MIA for a while, but I've been super busy getting the calendar finished in time for the San Diego Comic Con. I just picked them up from the printers and I'm telling you, I thought I blew my load in the awesome category for the last calendar, but this one is bigger, better, and hotter than ever.

I will start selling them at the SDCC tomorrow, then I will add them to the FanVixens site. So here it is....

Crazy year...catching up

So this is probably the craziest year I've had in quite some time. I had a crazy stalker issue, a good friend passes, I went through alcohol detox (hell week), 2 of my friends got attacked and beat up by some crazy folks with road rage (this was caught on video and I believe one of the suspects got caught, I got attacked from behind outside of a CVS by some dumb bitch who thought I cut her in line (p.s. she got her butt kicked pfsh), a friend tried to commit suicide, and on top of that a bunch of other crazy shit has being going on. A bunch of long stories that I don't feel like getting into. I'm still trying to keep things together. Shit, I'm actually doing quite well considering that I've had all of these crazy storms pouring down on me this year. I'm a bit bruised, a bit weathered, but still kicking and succeeding at all my ventures, with the help of good friends.

Anyways, just wanted to catch up a bit. Here are some photos from parties in April.

Jay's Birthday Masquerade
We were invited to a Jay's 40th birthday masquerade at the Hollywood Forever cemetery. We weren't able to stay long, but it was cool to be able to get dressed up and greet the birthday boy with a round of shots. I think this was around may 1st.

Before heading out. I chose this mask because people don't know where your looking. It's pretty bad ass. Also a pic of me wearing one of the metal bras I bought from Etsy a while back. I took pics wearing it before, but lost my camera.

Monsterpalooza '10

Lack of posts...I know. I've been super busy shooting for the 2011 FanVixens calendar, school, and other work. I barely have time to do anything. I actually haven't even seen much tv lately, aside from South Park. This is probably the busiest month I've had this year. I really need a break, but I guess I'll have to wait till at least the calendar is sent out to be printed. So far I've shot 4 out of 13 months. I'm stoked out how things are coming along great. This calendar is gonna be the shit, I shit you not.

I have tons of photos that are in need of being posted. I figured I might as well post little by little without writing too much. I decided I'll just batch edit things to resize only. No color corrections or cropping. Now if only there was a way to upload a full album onto my blog. Bah...

^Me and my sister in some dope ass baby masks that were being sold for I think $200. It was so fun posing in them. I found myself inadvertently making baby faces under the mask. haha. I really wanted to get one. Imagine me in a bikini and this mask for halloween. Oh man! A diaper and pasties. Damn, that'd be hot.

Lots of fun. Really cool show with some pretty interesting displays neat stuff to buy. I'd definitely go back again. Man this post sounds generic, but I really don't have time to be witty and all that crap.

Vintage Dollies Contest

So naturally I decided to join Voodoo Dolly's vintage dollies contest I actually wore this look out for a date the other day when I went to one of my new favorite fine dining spots, Sona. I still have to do a comparison review of Sona, Melisse, The Bazaar, and Providence. A while back, I ate at all of those places in a week so I could do a real comparison of them, but I have no time to write.

So here's my entry. I chose a pretty specific time era 1954-56. Actually, I might do more if I decide to do a vintage look on another date.
My inspirations were my dress, Dita Von Teese's book "Burlesque and the Art of the Teese/Fetish and the Art of the Teese"(a really interesting read with lots of great pictures), and another awesome book "The Great American Pin-Up". I actually tried to capture the look of some Elvgren pinups, but if I had to pick an actress from that era, I guess the look is a bit Marilyn Monroe-ish ( if she was a brunette with long hair).

So I really didn't give myself enough time to do the whole look on point, but I think I did a good job with the makeup. The Velcro rollers didn't have enough time to really set and give me the curls I usually rock. It's funny because my date was near and I was frantically throwing the curlers off my head and tossing them all over the place. haha. I usually use Velcro rollers because they give me great volume and curls without using any heat. I just have to make sure I get them in with enough time to let them air dry.

I lost a lot of time because I kept redoing my shadow. I was moving the crease of the shadow up and down. It was one of those nights where I just couldn't decide where to start it, even though I've done it hundreds of times. I think it was because I was trying to copy images of white folks and their creases are placed a bit higher than what I'm used to. haha.

Also, I noticed that most women from that era had brows that were shaped way different than what I'm used to. The arch is a little more rounded and they start the brow a bit further in so I did a little extra tweezing (it better grow back out. lol) for this look.

Anyways, here's the complete look.

^Another cute Bettie Page dress. I have one in red and wore it for Valentine's day. I went back and got one in blue. Love the fit! Haha. All my shoes scattered behind me. I couldn't find the other pair for a minute.

Like I said, I'm not completely satisfied with the look, so if I have time I'll replace it with another. I might pick another time era.

Update and Real talk

I've been doing a lot of reflecting after losing my friend. I really need to learn how to appreciate all the positive good-hearted folks that are in my life. The friends who make me laugh... the ones who aren't fake and shallow...people who know how to have a good time without pushing negative vibes around all the time.
Living in LA, you come across all types of people- good and bad, but it gets tedious filtering all the shitty, coat-riding bottom feeders who are only around to bring you down. There are so many fake fucks who linger around for so long, you don't even realize their true fucked up motives until they've already sucked out a lot of your energy and heart. You look back and wonder why?... how? You lose hope in humanity. You lose trust. You neglect everyone because you think the infallible filter that you once used to judge characters is broken because of a few scumbags who somehow slipped through the cracks. The mighty person you once knew is just as vulnerable as those that she once helped. The people she once pitied. You throw yourself in a dark place and hide in fear. You feel like an alien. You don't want to come out and play. Good or bad, you don't care to waste your life on anyone.

Fear becomes apathy. Your disposition becomes more stoic as all contact with others seems mechanical and languid. You carry on because you have to, not because you want to. Unanswered personal calls and messages pile up, and you think to yourself, "oh well."

Then something wakes you up. A simple photograph... Memories. Friends. Family. How could you allow a few speed bumps to keep you from moving in the right direction? Pick yourself up. Remember the people who matter. They still deserve you and you deserve them. Remember who you were...who you are. Fuck the dirtbags and parasites! Don't let anyone drag you down, you're going places! Leave the jerks in their mess and move on with those who want to shine with you.

Throwback... This makes me laugh. Most excellent shoot ever with some of the coolest chicks that I'm happy to know. So much fun!

The person who had to clean my living room after the mess probably didn't think it was so fun. haha. I love my girls.

So I've been super busy organizing all the characters, models, costumes, and shoot locations for the FanVixens 2011 calendar. I'm pretty stoked about how things are coming along. I have some super cool models and artists working with me on this calendar, so it's going to be bigger and better than the last. Guess that's all.

Saturday's Fetish Ball at Hollywood Forever

Bad insomnia and I can't find my vinyl glue to finish another costume. Might as well post photos from another fun party.

My lovely doll, Vima invited my sister and I to be her guests at the Fetish Ball last Saturday at the Hollywood Forever cemetery. It was another night of merry partying with some cool peeps, new and og.

Initially there were no pictures allowed, until we were introduced to the guy who runs the joint so I asked my sister to sneak a quick shot of me in the bathroom.

The girls.Some people though me, my sister, and Vima were triplets. I took it as a compliment. =)

We got to go into the secret room where the owner dwells. It had a neat bathroom with a coffin mirror and high tech bidet. There was also some sort of dungeon at the top, but I respected the spot and refrained from photographing.

The dress I was wearing was a cheap one that I got from SF. I sort of modified the front and added a pewter skull then rapped black pearls around it. I saw another asian biatch wearing the same dress. Lol. Good thing I changed it. I was actually obnoxious enough to point it out. "Oh how embarrassing! We're wearing the same dress!" -rolls eyes- People were like, "really? Yours looks so cool and hers..." Lol. I could be a real dick sometimes. Especially if you give me an attitude for no reason. -Snaps fingers-

I feel strange posting this now. I just found out that a dear friend passed away the other day. He was a great person. I saw he had a good heart, right off the bat. I trusted him and had a lot of love for him. Very young, very wise. The kind of guy who could strike up a meaningful conversation with anyone. The guy who got most likely to succeed in grade school. I wanted him to succeed. We all did. The last time I saw him, I hardly recognized him. I just wish that we could have done more to help, but it was clearly out of our hands and I know he's in a better place now...RIP, Kenneth. xo

The Alice Themed Gallery was Awesome

I had so much fun at the Alice in Wonderland themed show at the hive over the weekend. I got get decked out in an Alice themed costume, and I chose the mad hatter as a last minute decision because I'd been dieing to rock this wig for ages.

The house was packed with lots of folks dressed for the theme. I literally felt like I was in some sort of strange alternate universe. Like I had stepped through some looking glass into this...

So I check out our gallery space to see the dope as mushroom couch that Blaine and his friend had been working on. I was totally impressed. I had no idea how massive it was! To top it off, there was a giant bearded Alice perched on it, taking photos with folks for a nickle a pop. Luckily I had a 25 1/2 cents.

Oh yeah, just for good measure here's the makeup I did for my Liaisons of the Red Queen shoot. The makeup actually didn't take that long. It just took a while to do the brows because I covered them with brow wax and drew them in higher. I just caked on foundation 2 shades lighter than my face then dusted it with a generous amount of Makeup forever hd powder. Lips were painted on with a brush using occ liptar. Bloody mary red shadow and Urban decay shadow in Vapor. Urban decay eyeliner in yayo for lower water line then I drew fake lower lashes with Urban Decay black liquid eyeliner. Blush was Bare Minerals in Velvet. Red lashes from Hollywood Halloween shop.

I'm excited for my party coming up this Friday the 12th.
It's going to be more fun than the Alice party. The mushroom chair will still be there. Who wants to join me on it? =)

Ojai/Santa Barbara 2 Lots of photos

^I always look stiff right before a meal. lol.
This was my second time going to Downey's in Santa Barbara. The food here is DELICIOUS. The portions are huge. This place really reminds me of visiting the home of someone who cooks really good. It doesn't feel like a restaurant, partly because well the decor could use a little work. It reminds me of an older woman's apartment, but seriously, the food is what makes this place a true winner. Service is friendly.

Appetizers
Lobster Angel Hair Salad- Really tasty. My mouth is watering in remembrance. I could go for some of this right now.
Crab Toast with Mango and grape salsa. The crab was nice and fresh. So was the fruit salsa. This was a nice light appetizer with delicate flavor.
^Butternut soup with caramelized apples. This has to be one of the best soups I've ever had. It was a full bowl, and I could not stop eating it. Downey's menu changes all the time, I'm really hoping they have this the next time I come back. I wish wholefoods had a butternut soup this effing good. Man!
Refreshing salad made with Tom Shepherd's insanely fresh produce.
^Side. Yummy baby cauliflower cooked to perfection with a lemon butter sauce.
This was a succulent and savory duck in a Cabernet reduction. I was sad the portion was so huge, and I was already full from appetizers and the soup, but this was really good. I had to save room for dessert because I was eyeing the tray all evening. We skipped cheese, for once. lol.

^Last time we went to Downey's I got the same signature dessert of the restaurant.
I keep forgetting the name, but it has to be one of my all time favorite desserts! It's one of the only desserts that I could finish despite being completely stuffed. It's composed of a velvety white chocolate mousse and fresh raspberries with a light pastry crust dusted with powdered sugar. It's so delicious!

I was able to test out my new Nikon 70-200mm lens by snapping a few shots with it while shopping around Downtown Santa Barbara. Note these are considered snapshots because I didn't stand there and take the time to compose the images very well.

^I thought this was funny. "Asians r the shit!" on his guitar. Reminds me of when I was a dumb kid, writing nonsensical Asian Pride propaganda on my property. Smh. Ironically, the boy doesn't look asian at all. hmm...

^Cheesy flower shot. I know. I think I'm entitled to at least 5 cheesy shots a year, ok? Shoot. I'm still a girl and I still like flowers. pfsh.

It was sprinkling on and off so I had my camera hidden under my jacket most of the time then just bust it out to snap a few shots here and there. The verdict- I love my new lens!

Dinner at Bouchon
What I wore. Sick of my vintage look? lol. Well, here you go. Dress- Bebe. I liked it zipped up and down, but I chose to wear it zipped up for dinner. Shoes-Jeffrey Campbell. I really like these, they are super cute, but not too comfy.

Bouchon in Santa Barbara reminds me of Jiraffe in Santa Monica, but with fresher food and larger portions. The service here is beyond friendly and accommodating. They did make one huge mistake though. They forgot that my date doesn't eat meat and served his main course with bacon in it and we didn't realize it until he had quite a bit of it. They actually made up for it, buy giving us a free dessert and me a free glass of a great wine. Seriously our poor server looked like she'd seen a ghost when she found out what happened. Lol. All was forgiven immediately as the food was extremely delicious and the restaurant is just delightful. The food takes a bit longer to come out than other restaurants, but trust me, it's worth the damn wait. The food is FRESH and YUM!

Spiny lobster gratin with creamy goat cheese. This was amazing. The chunks of lobster were the perfect texture. The goat cheese was tasty. The mushrooms gave the dish a nice hardy earthiness to it. I loved this dish.

Warm Sweet Onion & Blue Cheese Tart with caramelized onions, Avila Farms toasted walnuts and Pt. Reyes blue cheese with organic baby watercress pomegranate-balsamic reduction. Another great appetizer. Pungent and delicious. They use the same Tom Shepherd's produce that Downey's uses. The freshness speaks volumes. God I'm getting hungry.

^Wild mushrooms with flat bread and organic salad. This is another fresh and delicious appetizer. Reminds me of a fresh pizza they would serve at a trattoria in Rome.

The evening special and my main course. A monster Double cut Kurobota porkchop...wait let me give u a better view of this bad boy...THICK, JUICY, served atop buttery cornbread, brussels sprouts, mustard greens with a mouthwatering granny smith vinaigrette.
^Cheese. Hell yes, our server did an awesome job at helping us choose our cheeses. They have a great selection at bouchon, and they give you lots. I packed this up to take home. lol. stuck it in the mini bar in our room.
^Dessert. I chose this fresh blueberry dessert. I forget the name but the blueberries were perfectly ripe and the cake was moist and not too sweet. This was berry yummy. =)
^I thought this was neat. The ceiling of corks in the cork room at bouchon. Reminds me of an old friend I had who had beer bottle caps mosaic-ed all over the popcorn ceiling in his bedroom. Now that's gangsta diy decorating. lol.

Back From Ojai/Santa Barbara and BRUTUS!

So I went on my little much needed vacation over the weekend. I just got back today. Of course, it was another amazing trip. The Ojai Valley Spa Resort never disappoints. I seemed to have made it a habit to go there every year. It's actually my favorite spa ever and I've been to quite a few popular spots. The property is gorgeous, the therapists are extremely great, they have the best massage tables I've ever laid my body on, the rooms are cute and comfy, and the overall staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The trip was relaxing and just what I needed after a week of nauseating drama.

The treatments I had during my stay:
-90 minute Swedish massage
-Carita Lift and firm facial- "Renew your skin with pearl powder from actual mother of pearl, which is proven to help repair, firm and restart the skin’s vital functions. This treatment is rich in essential minerals and natural sea elements that restore vitality, youthfulness and firmness, helping to protect from the effects of aging. Luxury 100 minute session."
-Ayurvedic Detox Body treatment- "Based on India’s 6,000 year-old system of health and healing, this treatment utilizes a powerful combination of Ayurvedic herbs and oils that help to strengthen the immune system, flush toxins and eliminate feelings of stress and anxiety. 100 minute session. "
-Detox Massage-"Our signature detoxifying massage. A full-body massage that utilizes warmed poultices containing a special blend of fresh organic herbs that aid in activating the lymphatic system to revitalize the body. 50 minute session. "
-Abhyanga- "Inspired by the traditions of the east and unique to the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa, this Ayurvedic-style massage is performed in tandem by two therapists to the rhythm of traditional Eastern music. This signature treatment elicits a deep state of relaxation and is an experience that is nothing short of divine. 50 minute session. "

All the treatments were amazing. I usually get the deluxe arcona facial, but I figure since I could always get one from the Arcona studio here in LA for less. Also they stopped doing the oxygen process in the Arcona facial at Ojai for some reason. I decided to try the Carita facial. I think I like the Arcona facial a little better because it involves a bit of everything including extractions which I hate the feel of, but I like to have it done. The Carita Facial was really hydrating and relaxing. I wold have to say my favorite treatment during this trip was the Abhyanga massage. Four hands are better than 2, I guess. =)

I'll post a bit of the trip for now and more later. I really want to post about my really BIG NEWS!

The first night we ate at Ojai Valley Resort's fine dining restaurant, Maravilla. The food and ambiance is great. The menu has changed quite a bit since the last time I ate there. There's no longer a tasting menu, and it seems there are less items. I think the economy has forced them to change things a bit, but that did not change the quality of food and service. The food is still great. The drink menu isn't as extensive or inventive as it used to be, but that doesn't matter to me anymore, since I try to stick to wine these days and they have a great wine selection.
What I wore...

Another Bettie Page dress. =) shoes- Anne Klein. Gloves- Ebay.

Mussels in a tasty tomato sauce with chorizo. This was really yummy and fragrant. Ojai Valley has it's own herb garden, which makes their foods beautifully aromatic.
Smoked salmon with lemon creme fraiche. Very tasty. We were able to order this from Ojai's casual dining restaurant, Oak Grill, for lunch on another day.
Tuscan steak with fresh arugula salad in an herbed vinaigrette and rosemary fries. The steak was so flavorful and perfectly seasoned. It really reminded me of a steak I had in Florence. I loved the texture. The fries were good too, but I didn't eat much of them.
^Sides- Green Beans and Truffle Mac n Cheese. I loved the truffle mac n cheese. It's why I didn't have many fries. =)
Creme Brulee with cinnamon gelato. This was pretty good. Not outstanding. I really liked the other dessert...
Profiteroles with homemade vanilla shake. This was SOOOO GOOOOD! The profiteroles were on top and the shake was at the bottom. You enjoy the pastries and sip the delicious shake from underneath. The vanilla was so fragrant. I was stuffed but I couldn't stop eating!

The next day...
I got dressed to go to Sunday brunch at the Four Seasons in Santa Barbara.

Sunday brunch at the four seasons is consistently great, it too is also becoming a yearly tradition for me. For those who are able to follow me on twitter. I posted pics from that delicious four part feast that I enjoyed. Basically, it's my favorite brunch. The seafood is fresh, there's a carving station with kobe beef, and tender lamb, they make waffles and omelets any way you like to order, a large selection of delicious desserts, a chocolate fountain with fresh seasonal fruits. Yum. Too bad there's no brunch place like that here in LA.
After brunch we went shopping in downtown Santa Barbara. Those cheap Cathy Jean shoes are cute and simple, but super hard on the feet, so we stumbled across a walking store and I bought these really cute and comfortable walking shoes. The look goes perfectly with my new dresses. They are viva Mary Janes by Sofft. I want to buy more of this brand when I get the chance. I love how they are comfortable and easy to walk in.

A New Member of the Family

Anyways, I'm going to take a break from writing about Ojai, so I can introduce my new buddy, Brutus! We decided to get a rescue, because it's really nice to be able to give a dog in need a loving home. It feels good to give a dog who went through a lot of trauma, a new lease on life. lol.

He's actually a pure bred chocolate lab with all his papers. His previous owner pretty much neglected him and when he was rescued he was near starving. He was super thin, his ribs were showing like crazy.

My top name options were Thor(god of thunder), Loki(god of mischief), or Brutus. We decided to commit to a name after we saw his personality. He is HUGE, and powerful, but a bit of a klutz due to his massive size so we chose Brutus. I like the name- Reminds me of popeye and he was actually responding to the name quite quickly.

Brutus is about 3 years old- bit older than we requested, but it doesn't matter. He's very well behaved and intuitive. He'll learn easily with a few good training sessions. I really love training dogs. I'm so stoked!
^Look at his eyes! We were really happy that they had such a gorgeous and sweet chocolate lab available so quickly. His foster mom is a really sweet woman who let us have him early so long as we agreed to take him to his neutering appointment next week.

When it comes to training, Brutus is the first big dog I've ever worked with. I think the only thing I'm scared of his massive size and strength in public. He's like a bear/horse. lol. He is in no way aggressive, but he is curious and he can really pull me around if he wanted to. When I walk him I really feel the power in his muscles. I have to learn to control him right away.

^Some of the goodies we bought for him before he was brought over. =)^He's gained a lot of weight since the first pictures we saw of him were taken. He's so handsome!

I couldn't be more happy with the instant connection that he's already made. His stomach might be a bit sensitive due to his previous trauma, but it's something that we are more than happy to work with. We love him very much already. He's going to make the perfect long term buddy.

^Before heading out to Crustacean. I felt like Lucille Ball. =) The lounge singer stopped in the middle of his set to compliment my dress. haha.

^Before heading out to a movie. This reminds me of something my mom would've worn back in the day. =)

I've been super busy. Rarely getting much sleep. The calendar list is finally narrowing down... Model list narrowing. Shopping list growing!

My trip was postponed, but soon I'll be on another much needed holiday. Relaxing and shooting.

Hope everyone had a great Valentine's weekend, Lunar New Year, and all that good stuff. I actually had a great weekend. Did lots of shopping, which seems to always boost my mood.

It's so hard for me to blog these days because I'm always super busy. I've been doing lots of organizing and prop shopping for the FanVixens 2011 calendar...getting costumes...custom making jewelry and armor...matching potential models to specific characters...going through pages and pages of models who answered my casting call. Holy fuck it's a lot of work, but it's so worth it to me because I know this calendar will be even better than the last one. I have some bad ass characters with awesome models to portray them, so I'm pretty stoked. Anyways, with that being said, let me get on to my quick vday weekend post. I'll try not to ramble on too much. lol

Bettie Page dress shop on Hollywood Blvd
On Saturday, I had to head back to this shop I saw on Hollywood Blvd while shopping for costumes. They were having a sale- 25% off for the weekend. Turns out to be my all time favorite dress shop hands down!!! Every dress I tried on fit me perfectly. Well, all except one- fit perfect around the waist, but would not zip over my tits. =(
It didn't matter though because I ended up buying 8 dresses that I absolutely love! Yeah, I know. My over flowing closet just needed to be abused with more dresses. I seriously have to get rid of some. I actually have my new dresses hanging outside of the closet, they just won't fit.

Anyways here's me in one of the dresses I got that day. I wore this for Valentines day. =)
Seriously I love how the dresses fit. They are made of stretchy material, so the dresses really hug my curves. The dresses are sexy without being slutty. Hey I don't mind dressing slutty some times lol, but sophisticated sexy makes me feel like a real lady. =)

Here's more of my dress haul. I just snapped these real quick before getting ready for my valentine's date.

Seriously these crappy pics on my messy bed do the dresses no justice. They look way better on me! haha. The dresses are just adorable with lovely little details that make me feel like a doll every time I try one on. I would've bought the whole store if they were stocked with more xs dresses. Haha, no seriously I did show a lot of restraint. I have to be very careful not to go inside that shop in the next couple of weeks while I shop for more costumes in hollywood. OMG. I could try on their dresses for days. If only they had this shop when I was putting together my Living Dolls book.

Okay...another major item I got over the weekend to go with all my sexy new dresses...

This super sexy Yves Saint Laurent purse that I got from Saks! I'm pretty particular when it comes to purses. I don't like super large bags, and I'm really not a fan of purses that you see everyone rocking. It's actually hard for me to find a purse that I don't dislike. It has to be easy to open, with a sleek understated sexiness... this was the purse for me.

^The chain is super sexy, and heavy. You could really beat the shit out of a fucker with it. purse/weapon...i like.^LMFAO. I swear I didn't notice this until I loaded the pics. haha!

We didn't really plan on going out for Vday, but after I got the dresses, I really wanted to get dolled up and go out so we were able to get last minute reservations. It was a cute contemporary looking Italian restaurant. I didn't really get a feel for the type of food that they have, because they had a set Valentines day menu with only a few options. The price was very decent. $65pp and you get an appetizer, main course, and dessert. I actually want to go back because the ambiance was nice and the food was pretty good esp for the price.

^the valentines day cocktail they had for the night. It was sexy and matched me. Made with rum, prosecco, agave nectar, and mint. It was pretty good. A little sweet for me, but definitely something most girls would like.
They had salads for appetizers, but I requested 2 courses from the main course section because I really wanted to try this.
Spinach gnocchi in a creamy cheese sauce. I was spot on with my choice. This was delicious. A good gnocchi is always a great choice in my book.
^Steak main course. Very tender and tasty. Went well with my chianti. I miss Italy.
^Dessert. I almost didn't choose this, but I'm so glad I did. This was a creamy pistachio panna cotta. It was very velvety in texture. Not too sweet. A nice clean dessert.
^In the restroom. Trying to suck in the pot belly from all the food. I actually like how the dress almost holds me in a bit sort of like a girdle that's not too restraining. haha

Hmm...what else.... Oh fucking yeah, I should be FINALLY getting my Nikon 70-200mm VRII lens. I ordered it over the weekend and I can't wait to play with it! Katrina just got hers and posted some awesome pics from it, so I'm even more stoked to get my hands on it. A good lens is the best investment you can make when it comes to photography. Cameras will always be easily replaced with newer versions, but a good quality lens can be used for a long time. The price doesn't usually go down in lenses like it does with camera bodies. I'm going to use the shit out of this baby! I'm getting it just in time to use for a couple of big projects I have lined up. I can't wait.

Hmm...also I enrolled in a few UCLA extension classes to sort of brush up on some of my work skills. Should be fun. Classes start March 30th. =)

Lots and lots of stuff going on. Things on my end are hectic, but great. I'm going away I won't say where, but it's a very needed getaway!

1) If you could date any comic book, horror, sci-fi, or video game character who would it be and why?

I've always had a thing for Wolverine and Batman, but since the new "Siege" series came out, I've been eyeballing Thor. I was also considering Wolverine's son, Daken, but he seems like he'd be pretty cold. I think Thor and Wolverine could really appreciate a woman without seeming to be too man-whorish like Bruce Wayne. So I'd choose Wolverine and Thor. I guess I really do like older men. haha.

2) Who is your favorite female comic book, horror, sci-fi, or video game character and why?

I couldn't really say that I favor any one female character, but as of lately, I've been pretty intrigued by Ruby Thursday (not to be confused with Sizzler's fancy cousin Ruby Tuesday). She's an extremely intelligent super villain who surgically replaced her head with an computer made of malleable plastic. She can change her head into whatever she wants-weapons, human faces, a pair of wings, extra appendages...the possibilities are endless. She's super smart, supposedly invincible with an über cool transforming head, and has a smoking hot body. Could she get any cooler? I submit that she can not!

3) If you could have any super power, what would it be?

I'd want the ability to shape-shift and copy any power an individual may have like the mutant, Copycat. I'd want this assuming that there actually are others around with super powers. If not the power to travel through space and time with my mind would be my second option.

God...I don't really have a favorite, but I love comedies so right off the top of my head I'd say "Happy Gilmore".

Does anyone remember that bad ass cartoon from the 80's, C.O.P.S.? I remember really liking that. I think I'm gonna google it and see if I can buy it on DVD. haha. I also loved The Real Ghostbusters, Tom & Jerry, Looney Toons, Ren & Stimpy, and Animaniacs. I own all of those (except for Ghostbusters) on dvd and still watch them when I'm working on my laptop. Hmm, I think I'll add The Real Ghostbusters series and C.O.P.S dvds to my Valentine's wish list. =)

With all this chilly weather I really enjoy teas

So I really like tea in general, but it's this time of year that I crave good teas all the time. It's so relaxing to just sit in front of my fireplace and sip on teas when I get up and before I go to bed. I used to get my teas from wholefoods until my girl introduced me to Dr. Teas. OMG, they have some of the best tasting, high quality teas I've ever tried. Dr. Teas has a wide variety of green, black, white, and herbal teas that are really yummy and have the added health benefits that you get from the natural herbs.

They have lots of interesting flavors. I especially like their Green Cherry Pie, Herbal Gingerbread, and Herbal Berry Truffle. I have to say, I'm super impressed by the flavor and quality of these teas. I crave them all the time. I really can't wait to try more of their flavors. They seriously have some yummy sounding teas. Tiramisu, Black Rum Raisin, and Black Candy Bar? They sound so damned good good. I just don't want to buy more until I finish what I already have.

It's funny because I get obsessed with little things from time to time and this is one of my new obsessions. Haha. At least its good for me. I haven't tried any of their tonics, I think I would have to do more research about that stuff before I invest in anything like that. For now I'm satisfied with the yummy teas I get to enjoy. Hehe. Just thought I'd take a second to share my new love. =)

I've been really busy working on the calendar. I couldn't be more pleased with all the ideas I got for the 2011 calendar from the giveaway contest that I'm throwing on my FanVixens Blog. The contest ends on the 10th, so you can still enter if you haven't.

I was actually planning on doing a review and comparing Providence, Melisse, and Sona, since I ate at all of those restaurants last week, but I don't have the time or energy atm.

Photos at the Abandoned Lighthouse in Aruba

The day we went to the lighthouse to get some fresh coconut.

Strange thing about Aruba...they don't have many vendors who sell fresh coconut, yet they have coconut trees (some with tourists setting up rest spots directly underneath=super unsafe) all over the place.

The view up here was nice. You can see lots of the island and ocean.

I miss the warm breezes and moist air.

I wonder if lots of drunks, homeless folks, and dogs must've pissed on these very steps. If plantar warts could talk...

While I'm at it I might as well post the 3 photos I have from Baby Beach. I didn't bring a camera because I didn't want it to get jacked while I went swimming. These were taken with my trusty iPhone.

On the way to baby beach. One thing I like about Aruba better than the states,
Smaller beers. You don't sit around babysitting a full bottle so they never get warm. I dunno maybe its just me. I don't usually drink beer much anyhow, I'm more of a wine/hard liquor person. The only beers I've enjoyed so far in my life are Corona (only with lots of lime), hitachino ale, guinness (sometimes), and I actually thought Aruba's popular beer, Balashi was pretty good. I'm no beer expert though.

Coconut stop right by baby beach.

I really don't have photos of baby beach, but its pretty nice if u want to sorta just wade around in the water. There's a long stretch of calm water that doesn't get deep until you go very far out. There are actually lots of people there, which I didn't like so much and they charge about $30 for a tent umbrella type thing that blocks the killer sun (only fits 2 lounge chairs underneath) and $30 for 2 lounge chairs which is fucking ridiculous, but you could always try to bring your own stuff, if you know any better before hand. From the looks of it though, those fuckers made a killing.^The tent and chair peddler. lol at us dumb tourists.
